We're all pretty excited over here at the Farewelling offices! Everyone on the team is working so hard to get the message out about what we're trying to do (in a nutshell: revolutionize everything about how we look at death and dying), so when a big media outlet like Mashable decided to feature us and our mission, we put on some music and did a happy dance! First and foremost, it's just cool that this important and often overlooked subject is being brought to light in a modern way. That feels great.
There is so much we plan to do to transform the experience of end of life and funeral planning into "farewelling" -- to help people celebrate a beautiful life, beautifully! We've got great articles and even an engaging podcast where we open up about this often hidden topic with celebrities, experts, and regular folks. In that opening up with each other, we learn more about how connected we truly all are. And that feels great, too.
We want to help everyone discover inspiration and create a space where we can uplift the conversation--and the experience--around this most human part of our shared journey. We also want to connect people to the tools and local providers they need for planning a funeral when someone they love has died. We have advice for mindful grieving if you are in the middle of a loss.
We'd really like to encourage everyone to take just a little time to think and plan for themselves so that their own farewelling will be a gift to their families, and a reflection of who they truly are and what's important to them.
Yes, Farewelling is a place where we give thought and space to end of life and funerals. But more than that, it's meant to be a conduit to living life more fully right now, in every delicious, precious moment.
Cheers to this big beautiful life!
Karen
