Owned and operated by Gillis Monroe for over 45 years, Long Beach Colonial Mortuary strives to provide the highest standard of funeral and cremation services to the community in Long Beach, CA. Gillis and his professional funeral team, including his wife and children, understand what a difficult time this is for you. They will provide you with the support you need while personalizing a funeral service that honors the life of your loved one. Long Beach Colonial Mortuary’s chapel can accommodate up to 175 people. Using up-to-date technology, the funeral home is equipped with hookups for computers and TVs so you are able to play slideshows and music to help memorialize your dear one. Long Beach Colonial Mortuary is located right in the heart of downtown Long Beach, California.

Why We Love It
Gillis Monroe long dreamed of owning his own funeral home. He started working towards this dream when he was just 14 years old, working for a funeral home in his hometown. Gillis purchased Long Beach Colonial Mortuary’s original location in 1983 before relocating to the current Atlantic Ave location, where Gillis was honored with a key to the city of Long Beach by the mayor.
